The first day proved to be the most productive, albeit the wettest, as we battled through an intense Madrid rainstorm that left everyone apprehensive for the remainder of the trip. Despite the downpour, Juan managed to land one of the heaviest tricks for the video. Joe, on the other hand, seemed to have a knack for water-related mishaps, soaking his feet while attempting nose wheelies into a fountain one day and a bump to bar trick into another fountain the next.

Midway through our journey, we made a mandatory visit to the northern part of the Community of Madrid, hitting the streets of Alcobendas before wrapping up the session with a thrilling ramp session at the legendary Nepal skatepark, accompanied by some refreshing “cuba libre” drinks.

The locals treated us to a classic tapas bar experience, where Victor’s boombox and thrashy teenage French songs got the whole bar dancing. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew initiated a slap boxing contest, much to the delight of the bartender and patrons.

Our itinerary also took us south of the city to Alcorcon, also known as Alcorqueens, the birthplace of Madrid’s graffiti and hip hop culture. Unfortunately, it was a tough day for Seb. Despite landing the first trick, he suffered numerous gnarly slams throughout the day, culminating in a catastrophic injury when he broke his leg in two places, leaving an open wound. Fortunately, after two days of logistical challenges shuttling between the hospital, airport, Airbnb, and train stations, Seb managed to return to Paris in time for surgery.

The mood of the crew understandably took a hit after Seb’s accident, and the last days of the trip were marked by exhaustion. However, we rallied together and still managed to capture some clips, particularly on the final day while waiting for our plane at a mall near the airport. Juan even braved the rain to throw himself at a rail for one last memorable moment.

Thanks to the locals, Ivan Suárez, Mario Fidalgo, Santino Piech, Goyo and the Nepal homies.
