Last winter we were told The Wig would have until the end of summer 2018. Prior to that we got quite a few skateboarders to show up to the main community meeting with the developer of the property. We made a big impact, it was amazing to see, they were fumbling and didn’t know how to repsond. Derrick ended up getting voted into the neighborhood organization.

After hearing that we had until summer we heard other stories, like people owning pieces of it and not selling to them, and that the developer never had enough money. However, it’s fall now, and winter is coming fast with no developments going on. It seems like we will make it to spring 2019.

Sometimes I think we might show up one day to fences and tractors but for now we are skating there almost everyday and we couldn’t be happier. We have groups of kids that are learning and growing by the day, and Grindline is building us a new park as we speak. Thank you skateboarding.
