Street Improvement in Progress: Kutztown

Sometimes improving a spot starts with a simple act, like throwing rocks. We found these two barriers at the highest elevated point in Kutztown, on a road surrounded by rocks. We started by throwing rocks at the barrier for a few hours, then shaped the rocks, then throwing some more. By the time we were done tossing stones, a transition of rocks sat in front of us. We filled in the spaces with gravel, then the next morning made it a 7:00AM mission with two bags of crete. We worked quickly, with one builder and one driver, and before we knew it, we had created an amazing new spot. After a few days to let it dry, we attacked it, realizing quickly that this spot was not fucking around. The barriers are at the top of a hill with rough pavement, so taking a spill means cut hands and ripped pants. But a successful trick over can be rewarded with a hill bomb. For less than $30 we created the best transition spot in town, and we can only hope it stays, at least for the rest of the semester.
