Ramp’s Out Back: The Plant

We built the ramp a year ago, right around this time, we figured it would be a good escape from the snow. It’s in a garage on my friend Chris’ land, I was living there with him and a few other friends when we built it. It only took a month to build, we would just work on it a few hours at night on the weekends, everyone pitched in what they could for the lumber and everything, me and my friends Jimmy, Joe, Kevin, and Eric did a lot of the building, but there were always other homies around helping out.

It is just a cool place to hangout with your friend and party, have bonfires, shoot guns, do what you want really. The ramp is sick, it’s in a big garage. We usually just skate it when the weather’s bad. It also has a kerosene heater that keeps it fairly warm when it’s really cold.

We would always have parties in the garage and everyone would be skating the ramp, it was a lot of fun and so much gnarly stuff would go down, tricks off the wall and people airing over each other, it was pretty gnarly.

As for the rest of the property its a farm without animals with the exception of a few goats haha. we would normally go street skate and come back and cook out and drink a few beers. Good place when out-of-towners are around to hang out.

A few months ago we decided to add a 2 foot extension, it only took a couple nights to add on and it turned out really good, it definitely gives the ramp more possibilities.

Special thanks to Chris Mentlik for letting us build it and helping out, and to all the homies that helped build or pitched in.
