words and photos by Filadelfo “Luke” Kroon

London is where it’s at, there’s so much happening here, all the time. Right now I’m kind of rushing this before heading off to Ben Keegan and Pat Coughlan’s shared part at Slam, nice one boys, big up. The scene here is active, the boys all kill it and always a good buzz in whatever you’re doing in the city. I guess I’m writing this with a slightly outside perspective, being from Dublin. For you Yanks, that’s NOT in the UK, but while I’m at it, big up Highrollers Dublin and ICYP.

But back to London, I moved here in September 2022 to come study, and honestly, I wouldn’t change it for the world. The quality of the skateboarders, spots, and overall community is unmatched. Seeing people who I had always seen in videos is still crazy to me. Shooting photos here is incredible, having people who are down to get buck always helps. I’ve been shooting with Nick Richards and his crew for a video he’s been working on for a while now, it should have been out last year but some fool, Josh “Ranga” Harper, had to go break his ankle and postpone the whole thing, but I guess it’s just given us some extra time to film. From this crew, in particular, Jack Thompson, Cillian Fitzpatrick and Chris Oliver have been ripping as of late. I don’t know how Chris does it, he’s forty fucking four, still goes ham, like super ham, just wait for his part, it’s fucked, he’s fucked. Moving over here, it was sick to get in with this crew.

Southbank, Mile End, and Stockwell, that’s where you wanna be at, those are the spots I’ve met all my homies at. Coming over here, I was hella nervous about meeting people, finding a crew to skate with, finding a crew to chill with, but trust me, it’s all the same. Just come in with a smile on your face, talk to people, be friendly, be respectful, and you’re gonna have a great time. Best wishes from London.
