We talked about this trip for a year and a half before it’s actual execution. The crew formed and we prepared ourselves for the East to West road trip many had dreamed about. Piling five dudes into 2006 green Chrysler Town and Country seemed easy until that moment when we crammed in the fourth and fifth dude and every essential belonging needed for the excursion.
We rushed through the initial packing process because we felt the heat from the stare of homies mothers waiting for us not to be able to fit everything we wished to bring. We got out of there quickly and hit the road.
From Boston to Buffalo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Minneapolis, Badlands, Colorado, Idaho Springs, Seattle, down to Portland, San Francisco, and inevitably LA, we made it work, learning along the way where to camp and how to spend the least amount of money doing it.
What started as being called the “hell ride” quickly turned into the “help ride” as we received blessing after blessing from every encounter along the way.
So from everyone involved on the trip we’d like to thank, Alex and Gave in Cinci, my mom for the hotel in Chicago, Raul at Satellite Boardshop in Boulder, my fam in Colorado, Nutter in Fort Collins, Tommy Johnson in Seattle, Marc Omalley and Desiree Melancon in Portland, Josh Riviere in SF, The Green Team in Berkeley, and Steve n Pedro down in Long Beach. We appreciate all the help.
