Giddy #11

Interview and introduction by Zach Moeller.

During an otherwise bleak period, filmer Romain Batard offers the best possible distraction in the form of a fresh installment in the Giddy video series. “Giddy #11” is nearly 20 minutes long and has a unique feel compared to some of its predecessors, all the while maintaining the general vibe of the series by visually embodying the spirit of the session. Romain provides some insight into his latest clip:

What’s up with that intro track?

I just found this video on YouTube and fell in love with it. It could be real, it could be fake…who knows?

How did the Giddy clips first start happening?

I just wanted to make a series of videos without having to keep a visual unity between the episodes. Each of them is different, whether it is the format or the vibe.

Why did you make this one longer?

Most of these parts were supposed to come out separately for different brands at first, but for different reasons it couldn’t happen. So rather than losing the footage we managed to put them all in this big Giddy. I’m happy to see all the footage out together in the end. I believe the oldest footage is 4 years old.

There’s some rad additional filming contributed to #11. If you could have anyone film a couple of additional clips for the next episode who would it be?

I’m already happy to have recieved some clips from Tim Reinson, Guillaume Perimony, and Jacob Harris for this one. One filmer I’ve always loved is Yoan Taillandier, and I’d be happy to do something with Sirius F. Gahan at some point!

How’s quarantine treating you? Do you have any advice for everyone else around the world who are trapped inside?

I needed time to edit a few videos, so it happened at the right time I guess. I’m staying in my Parisian apartment with girlfriend, so it’s pretty cool. We are lucky because it has a balcony. And for those who are stuck during these days, try to stay home as much as possible. Going out can only feel better after that!
