Dennis Busenitz Appreciation Day

Dennis Busenitz grew up skating just outside of Wichita, Kansas, in Newton, during the late ’90s. Kansas City has Sean Malto and for those of us from Wichita and surrounding areas we have Dennis!

In our hearts he is Skater of the Year every year. We are so proud of all of his accomplishments in the pro ranks of skateboarding that every few years we throw a skate jam in his honor, Dennis Busenitz Appreciation Day. May 1st 2022 was the latest installment and here are some highlights.

Big thanks to Real, Thunder, Spitfire, and Adidas for sending gear to give out to the attendees. An even bigger thanks goes to Landon Gray Barnhart for bringing all the ramps and making the edit, and to Chris Canary from Kerosene Skate Shop for bringing the sound system.

Thanks also to Andrew Waldrip for shooting photos all day. We appreciate all the folks that shared a Dennis story over the microphone and everyone that skated.

A date has yet to be set for the next Dennis Busenitz Appreciation Day but rest assured there will be more to come. We may even convince Dennis to attend the next one.
