So here’s the thing: Lightning doesn’t strike twice.
The acronym FUBAR stands for Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition / Repair / Reason. What I’m trying to say is, things went really wrong really fast and nobody was gonna be able to fix that shit. Everything was Fubar from the jump. You might have heard what went down on July 11th between the hours of 7 and 10 pm on Dolores Street. But let me say this…
There were so many fucking cops. They were there responding to the 911 calls for an ambulance, but they would’ve shown up soon regardless. Shit got hot when one sergeant decided it was a good idea to shoulder check a 17 year old, clocking a good 25mph, right off his board and into a squad car halfway down the hill. My man is currently awaiting knee and ankle surgery and won’t be back on a skateboard for probably close to a year. He was one of the brightest locals in his hometown and ripped. Know what this cop did immediately after sending a child fly over the hood of his car? Shrug his shoulders, radio for backup, and walk away. Know what the first headline was on the news that night? Officer attacked by skateboarder at angry riot. Crazy thing was the bombing didn’t stop. Homies just took it to the sidewalk and clickity clacked right in the cops faces. Hear some folks even took the sidewalk from the top and crossed the street. It was anarchy…
Last year was amazing, this year was close to hell, who knows what’s next. Mad blessings to all those that took an ambulance ride.
