Ramp’s Out Back: Norfolk, VA

This beast of a ramp is located just outside of Norfolk, Virginia in the backyard of Jamie Tabor. He first built the smaller half of the ramp in 2009, but has since added a higher half, and pool coping to one of the higher sides.

The pool coping was made by hand and very well done. Jamie once said that building this ramp cost him more than his first car, and this is obvious while skating it because it is perfect.

On-deck lights allow you to skate into the night, while speakers bless your ears with the sounds of Slayer and Black Sabbath. Frequent sessions go down, and there are always new faces. This is without a doubt one of the best ramps I’ve ever skated. I look forward to many more sessions!

The ramp is 32′ wide with 9 1/2′ transitions, 11 1/2 flat bottom, 4′ tall on the small sides, and 5 1/2 on the tall sides.
